Takashi Miike wonders if he can remake Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels in KabukichÅ, Japan. And yes, yes he can!
You've got the Yakuza boss, the rival Chinese gang, the Yakuza double-crosser, the Yakuza mole, the Yakuza indentured servant, the girlfriend of the Yakuza drug runner, a corrupt cop, and a terminally ill boxer running around in a frantic comedy of errors as a hastily planned drug heist goes sideways.
The gang guys are tossing blame around and slicing each other's heads off with swords, the double-crosser and the cop are running around trying to cover their tracks, the boxer and the indentured servant are just constantly getting caught in the middle.
Two car chase scenes are 3D rendered, and look awful. One car chase scene is animated, and looks great.
Just your basic, light-hearted romcom where everybody gets triumphantly butchered.
