A ragtag ensemble of permanently down-on-their-luck homeless people find an abandoned infant crying in a pile of trash. They set about to care for it as their own, while hunting down the neglectful parents who left it there in the first place for answers.

They split and rejoin repeatedly, each led down crazy side quests of character dramatic backstory and moral development. It's a story of people-are-a-sum-of-their-past plus some don't-judge-a-book-by-its-cover with a healthy dose of bohemian appreciation.

Each character's backstory is a dismaying tale of sadness and woe that has led them to the eventual gutter life. Everyone, both main and side character alike, is struggling with a wavering will to go on.
